Antalya – Turkey's Mediterranean Resort

An inviting blend of historical relevance and astonishing natural beauty, Antalya features as the primary Mediterranean resort of Turkey. Antalya is a beautiful city with palm-lined boulevards and a number of architectural wonders which put forward an impressive display. The city has changed hands a number of times in the past and this in turn, is reflected through the diversity in architectural styles. Antalya was first ruled by the Romans, followed by the Byzantines, Selzuks, before finally coming under the Ottoman rule. The center of the city flaunts the fluted minaret of the Yivli Minareli Mosque built by the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat in the 13th century. Today, it's more like a symbol of Antalya.

Antalya also delights travelers with its marvelous natural beauty, of fantastic beaches and cascading waterfalls. The Lara Beach is the most frequented, and lies 12 kilometers east of the city. On your way to the beach, the Upper Düden Waterfalls create a breathtaking scene by plunging straight into the sea. The view is simply spectacular and you can view it from a rest area located nearby. The other two equally scenic places near Antalya are the Kursunlu Waterfalls and Nilüfer Lake. The Konyaalti Beach is yet another beautiful destination which offers mind-blowing views of the Taurus mountain range. The nearby Topcam Beach too, delights wanderlust travelers with equally alluring views.
